About The Admin Den

Who Am I?
Introducing the woman behind the laptop!
I am Alicia (pronounced ‘ah-LISS-ee-a’), a Virtual Assistant and Mum of two! I support Small Businesses with their overwhelming admin to help them find their work/life balance.
I live in Sandhurst, Berkshire with my son and my husband, Rich. We spend our days with toy cars continuously underfoot and never being able to finish a conversation. My life seems to be some form of balance between hyper-organisation and utter chaos.
I spent 9 years running the busy (yet small) office of a scaffolding company. Their systems were basic, disorganised without a cohesive system. By the time I left, they were winning contracts with His Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth requiring security checks on all staff, certifications and to pass company audits regularly (and each auditor praised the organisation of our systems). When I fell pregnant in 2020, I knew I wanted a different life as a family so, after my maternity leave, I set up my business while moving house and learning to adjust to a child who could now run! Not ideal timing but it all came together in the end.

When I was due to have my second child in 2025, I expanded my time to support me in my maternity leave and to start growing my business too. Growing my business (whilst getting much busier as a mum with a newborn) meant I needed to work on my business systems, making the most of automations, thinking strategically about my workflows and making often fiddly tasks, such as onboarding/offboarding, as straightforward as possible by using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to make sure that all the important things happen, every time! I love a system that makes life easier both in business and in my personal life. I have a list of the tools which I love and have helped me streamline my own business.
The self-employed life is exactly what our family needed and I couldn't imagine another way now. One thing I have loved discovering about the small business world is the amazing network of Mums in business who are juggling family, work and life to make it work for them. It is no mean feat and yet I am in awe of the women around me.
We'd love to hear from you so take a look at the services we offer to support small businesses or, if you're ready, get in touch below:

Travelling
Our travels have certainly slowed down since becoming parents but I love exploring new places, trying new foods and learning about different countries

Reading
I've always loved to read. My Mum is a retired librarian who raised us with a love of escaping in stories, being inspired by characters and getting lost in a different world.

Theatre
I love a stage. I love being on one and I love being in the audience of one too! I have a degree in Drama (and English) and am particularly partial to a musical

Motherhood
Motherhood is my favourite job (most days) but wow! It is the most testing, yet rewarding experience I've ever had. Seeing the world through their little eyes is a journey I could never have imagined.
